Going to
the Museum of
the City of New York
was very fascinating.
I learned a
lot about how a photographer named
Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao
who would pick
any part of
New York City
and stay there
the entire day
and take 100
photos which will
develop showing different
times during the
day but then he will
put the photos
together to create
an image that
will look like
it was taken
at one time.
One of
my favorite exhibits
was the “Activist
of New York”
where it displayed
several examples of
protest throughout the
history of New
York. From as
early as its
founding in the 17th century
to as soon
as the climate
march that changed
history on September
21,2014. From gay marriage, racism
in the 1960’s,
building a mosque
close to ground
0, building bike
lanes and women’s
right to vote
in the 1920’s.
All in all,
this display of
courage, determination and hope
in all of
the activist exhibits
really showed me
the struggles that
people came over
in New York,
that they will
sacrifice anything until justice
is served.
